BMW

BMW can trace its roots back to Karl Rapp and Gustav Otto. In 1916, the Flugmaschinenfabrik Gustav Otto company had merged into Bayerische Flugzeug-Werke AG (BFW) at the government’s behest. In 1917, The Rapp Motorenwerke company meanwhile became Bayerische Motoren Werke GmbH. . From 1917, each of the company’s products proudly displayed the BMW emblem, which incorporates the Bavarian state colours. BMW AG fully merged with BFW in 1922.
