Cabin space and comfort are improved due to the roof’s doubly-curvature, an element made possible by its aluminium construction. It weighs 40kg less than a traditional hard top and 25kg less than a fabric roof. As the two sections of the roof rotate simultaneously, the 458 Spider’s hard top takes just 14 seconds to deploy or retract. Drop-top driving in the 458 Spider is a uniquely exhilarating experience.
The air intakes on the Spider were moved back to the rear spoiler where the gearbox and clutch radiators are situated. A specific mix of intake and exhaust sounds were honed to suit the Spider, thanks to specifically developed silencers. The 4,497 cc V8 engine produces a maximum power of 562hp at 9,000 rpm, giving a top speed of 199 mph and acceleration from 0-62 mph only 3.4 secs. Braking from 62 to 0 mph is achieved in just 107.6 feet, and a lap of Fiorano is possible in 85.5 secs.
Supplied new by H.R Owen Ferrari in July 2014, our car boasts a full Ferrari main dealer service history, full driver’s book set, service invoices, car cover, car battery charger, tools, spare key and tracking fobs. This Ferrari has an extremely long list of costly factory options and presents very well indeed. A 12-month written warranty will also be included.
