Hexagon Classics are proud to offer one of the landmark British supercars. The rare X -pack 432 bhp engine, desirable classic colour scheme, detailed service history, and ultra-low mileage, make what was the world’s fastest convertible car, even more special. There were just 79 Vantage Volante X-package cars manufactured.

Aston Martin had been propelled back into the supercar league with a tuned version of their V8 engine which utilised four 48mm Weber carburettors. The brakes were a larger ventilated affair, and the alloys used low-profile tyres. The Vantage version had a blanked-off air scoop, blanked air intake, front chin spoiler and aerodynamic lip to the boot lid. The power-operated hood was designed by George Moseley, who had previously designed the Corniche hood for Rolls-Royce. The revised interior made extensive use of burr walnut.

Car Magazine wrote at the time, “This is a car that impresses itself – favourably and indelibly – upon your mind for the way in which it blends its abilities, and for their unique sum total … Visually, it is an extremely successful development, this metamorphosis from coupe to convertible. The line of the Volante is smooth and clean… there is a natural grace too, a flowing of line… Most of all, roof up or down, the Volante is a substantial looking car, that suggest very clearly quality and taste., and perhaps through its obvious visual link with the past, a sense of breeding.”

The Aston Martin accelerates from 0 – 60 mph on just 6 seconds, and will reach a top speed of over 160 miles per hour, quite remarkable for a car of this period.

Our vehicle has 2 accompanying history files, such is the comprehensive amount of service paperwork and documented expenditure. No expense has been spared in maintaining this vehicle in peak condition. All the historic MOTs, and log book copies, service book, handbook and spare keys are with the Vantage Volante. A DAB radio, satellite navigation, Bluetooth and iPod connector have also been installed by Aston Martin Works.
