This aluminium-bodied alloy sports car represents the very epitome of 1970’s British motoring spirit. The flair of Williams Towns’ hand-built design still looks wonderful, (each car required 1200 man hours to finish!), and its original colour of Deep Carriage Green really complements the form. Our V8 is all numbers-matching, has its original BMIHT certificate and was in its previous ownership for over 30 years. This is a true four-seater, luxury grand tourer.

This V8 represents the pinnacle of decades of hand-assembled Aston Martin production. Only 970 Series 3 cars were produced, of which 439 were RHD automatics. True craftsmanship shows itself in every detail and the stunning combination of beauty, and its luxury and power are as rare today as they were when this car first saw the light of day.  With the introduction of the Aston Martin’s V8 this model propelled Newport Pagnell back into the supercar league of car manufacturers.

The brainchild of Aston Martin designer Tadek Marek, the 315 bhp V8 power unit was a masterpiece. Eight cylinders, Four twin-carb Weber carburettors, four overhead camshafts, 5340cc capacity, and 9:1 compression ratio. The powerful, yet docile engine accelerates smoothly, and will happily cruise at high speed. Top speed was 146 mph.  Large ventilated Girling brake discs all round provide the stopping power. Originally supplied by Bowker & Fisher Ltd Aston Martin of Lancaster, to a Mr J.V.R Bulldush of Kirkby Lonsdale. In 1996 he sold it to Mr Brian Hargreaves, proprietor of the Bare Motor Company and classic motoring enthusiast, who kept the Aston Martin V8 for the remainder of his life. Maintenance was carried out firstly by Aston Martin Newport Pagnell and then by the well-known classic motor technician Mick Pearson.

This V8 is presented in superb order and is complete with history file featuring past tax discs and MOT certificates, instruction book and its BMI Heritage Trust Factory Record.  Aston Martin V8’s this good rarely come available for sale. This is an opportunity to acquire one of the best low mileage, low ownership examples available.
