Hexagon Classics are delighted to offer this very special 993 Turbo with important factory upgrades. Looking immaculate in its classic silver with black combination, this very car was featured in a 9-page article published in GT Porsche magazine.
C16, Exclusive X50 Factory Power Upgrade with additional oil cooler and stainless exhaust, air-conditioning, electric sliding sunroof, on-board computer, Porsche CDR 22, Sound Package, full leather interior, Comfort Seats with electric adjustment, 18” Technology wheels with coloured crested centres, 40% locking differential, rear wiper, top tinted windscreen, high-level rear brake light, twin airbags, ABS 5 Braking System. Tracker fitted.
Intended for drivers who demanded top performance, the 993 Turbo was first launched to the world in September 1995, where in Germany it was voted Sports Car of the Year by “auto motor and sport” magazine. A huge sensation when it was launched, the 993 series Turbo was based on the Carrera 4. In fact, its unbelievable technical capabilities, and exceptionally good roadholding, led to it being compared in the magazine reports to the incredible 959.
Three developments contributed to its unbelievable performance. The engine had low inertia turbos, the transmission had six close-ratio speeds, and it came with four-wheel drive. The 911 Turbo was conceived and built by motorsport enthusiasts, and the addition of the Exclusive Option 706 X50 power pack with its adapted ECU meant that the maximum output rose to 430hp (331kw) and gained an additional oil cooler and a twin-pipe exhaust from the 993 Turbo S model. The X50 power upgrade measurably improves the 993 Turbo, and the car is far better at being civilised and coping with everyday driving conditions than its competitors. It gives Turbo S-level performance, without the higher price tag.
Supplied new in October 1996, this 993 Turbo has been meticulously maintained, boasts 19 service stamps, full history file, historical MOT’s and RFL discs. It is presented in excellent condition throughout and has just completed a full re-fresh at a cost of £14,800, which included a major service, 4 new N-rated tyres, front brake discs and pads, Lambda sensors, clutch release bearing, slave cylinder, and exhaust system and heat shields. Truly a modern classic 993 Turbo X50 that is bound to please Porsche collectors. It will also be supplied with a comprehensive 12-month written warranty.
