Possibly the wildest, normally-aspirated 911 ever produced by Porsche. Rare, and very beautiful.

The external appearance of the Porsche 993, designed by Englishman Toni Hatter, retained the basic body shell architecture of the 964 and other earlier 911 models, but with revised external panels, flared wheel arches and a smoother front and rear bumper design.

The Carrera RS or Renn Sport is a lightweight variant of the Carrera.  It features a naturally aspirated 3.8 litre air-cooled engine with 300BHP.   The six-speed gear shift is linked to a Type G50/31 short-ratio gearbox that prioritizes acceleration over top speed.

The RS exterior is easily distinguishable by a special non-retractable Sport Group 1 rear wing, small front flaps and 3-piece 18-inch (460 mm) aluminium wheels with 225/40ZR18s tyres on the front and 265/35ZR18s on the rear.  The headlight washers were deleted for weight-saving reasons. The front uses a deeper front spoiler with winglets on either side. The bumper has cooling ducts where you would normally find parking lights.

Inside, to save more weight, the rear seats were removed, and special racing seats and spartan door cards were installed.  Sound proofing was also reduced to a minimum.

A direct ancestor of modern RS Porsches, the Euro market-only Carrera RS 3.8 is based on the Carrera Cup competition car and was built as a homologation special to allow the enlarged 3.8 litre engine to be fitted to the 911 RSR racers competing throughout Europe in the late 1990s.

Originally delivered in Stuttgart in March 1995 to specification C00, the 993 RS then went to Italy, before arriving in the UK in 2002.  Presented in excellent condition, with all its original handbooks, this represents a rare opportunity for an enthusiast or collector to own a Porsche model that is seldom offered for sale. The car will be sold with a fresh MOT and comprehensive 12-month warranty.

Available for inspection at our London showroom.
