The air-cooled Porsche 993 Carrera was arguably Porsche’s finest ever incarnation of the 911 series, with its wonderful 4-wheel drive surefootedness. 993 is the company’s internal number for the version of the Porsche 911 model manufactured and sold between late 1993 and early 1998 replacing the 964.  Its discontinuation marked the end of air-cooled Porsches, with the 993 being not just the last air-cooled 911, but also the last of the hand-built 911 series.

In 1995 Porsche switched production over to the Varioram-equipped M64/21(22) engine.  Varioram adjusts the length of the air intake ducts in line with the engine RPMs and the speed of the car, with this the power output was increased to 285 PS (210 kW; 281 bhp), giving the 993 Carrera improved performance. You will frequently find yourself driving one or two gears higher than in other cars, thanks to the engine’s wide power band.

Supplied new by Porsche Cars Great Britain in August 1996, and garaged throughout its life, this vehicle has had just three keepers in 23 years, the last of which owned it for 19 years. This car has a magnificent history file, the majority of which was carried out by official Porsche dealers.  It simply deserves inspection.
