The Jaguar Mk. II was a mid-sized sedan built from 1959 to 1967 as a successor to the 2.4 and 3.4 litre models. The Mk. II was a manageable, powerful, and comfortable sedan offered with a choice of three six-cylinder twin-cam engines; 2.4 litres, 3.4 litres or 3.8 litres. Immortalised by Sir William Lyons’ 1950s advertising slogan: ‘Grace, Space, Pace’ – this particular 4.2L Mk II Jaguar surely satisfies all three parts of this mantra. The Mk II was dominated contemporary saloon car racing.  Synonymous with the swinging ’60s and the hit TV series, Inspector Morse, the Jaguar Mk II has been used as a vehicle to transport everyone from dignitaries and politicians, to bank robbers and law enforcement.

Raced by famous names such as Stirling Moss, Bruce McLaren Graham Hill, Roy Salvadori and Michael Parkes, the Mk II achieved many victories on circuits in both Europe and the United States. The Mk II enjoyed great success on the track in period, and still proves itself to be a very competitive historic race car.

Our cherished example received in-period upgrades, including: VSE XK 4.2 litre engine, uprated fuel pump, performance radiator. The car has also received an upgraded clutch with recent master & slave cylinders, performance overdrive and Jaguar Salisbury 3.31 Limited Slip Differential (LSD).

Hexagon is delighted to provide an exceptional MK II available for viewing at our London showroom.
