The 812 Superfast is Ferrari’s flagship super GT – a layout that occupies a special place in Ferrari mythology, tracing its roots back through the 599GTB and 550 Maranello to the 365 Daytona and 250. A plethora of Ferrari connoisseurs see this as the last ‘pure’ naturally aspirated V12 to leave the gates of Maranello.

Powered by a 6.5-litre V12 engine that unleashes 789hp, the 812 Superfast set a benchmark in the mid-front-engined sports car segment, achieving maximum power output at 8,500 rpm, which translates to a specific power output of 123 cv/l. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via Ferrari’s F1 seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, engineered to provide shorter gear ratios and shifts. The gear ratios on all the gears have been shortened by an average of 6% to exploit the extra performance and higher revs to the fullest as well as to improve the car’s acceleration without compromising pick-up in higher gears. The electronically controlled rear differential also incorporates the F1-TRAC technology and the fifth iteration of the brand’s Slide Slip Control. The 812 Superfast is the first Ferrari to introduce Electric Power Steering (EPS) which, in line with Ferrari tradition, is used to fully exploit the potential of the car in terms of performance by integrating it with all of the electronic vehicle dynamics controls

Active aerodynamic flaps in the front splitter and the rear diffuser allow the 812 to develop unbelievable levels of active downforce without the need for a large rear wing. Control and practicality are further achieved by Ferrari’s novel electric power steering, Side Slip Control (SSC) and a four-wheel steer system Ferrari calls Virtual Short Wheelbase 2.0, as well as both passive and active aero. This array of performance enhancing technologies constantly work in tandem to provide the optimum driving experience.
