Hexagon Classics are delighted to offer this highly-specified, low mileage BMW M3 Coupe, which has the preferred manual gearbox. The 6-speed manual gearbox is highly desirable as many M3’s came with the alternative SMG gearbox. The manual gearbox adds greatly to the driving experience and helps to maintain the cars purity as a genuine drivers’ car.
The E46 M3 is one of the most iconic BMW’s ever built and even to this day is still regarded by many as the greatest M3 ever produced. Few cars before or since have quite captured the magic of the E46 M3 and no car manages to combine fun and everyday usability in quite the same way. The BMW M3 E46 Coupé took the hearts of real sports car fans by storm when it launched in 2000. With a low weight construction and the high-rev concept of its inline 6-cylinder engine, for many it embodied a return to the virtues of the iconic BMW M3 E30. This emotional and racing-inspired combination helped the M3 to 343 hp peak power (252 kW) and 365 Nm torque – and at the same time to eight wins at the prestigious ‘Engine of the Year’ awards.
An M3 never lacks for unique distinguishing features. As with the iconic M3 E30, the M3 E46 is immediately recognisable as the premium model in the series thanks to numerous details. Aesthetic changes such as widened fenders, special side skirts and the modified front apron catch the eye of every observer. These changes also serve an important purpose, mostly in terms of aerodynamics. This also applies to the Gurney flap at the rear: the small spoiler lip noticeably reduces lift and thus improves to traction – crucial in faster corners.
Supplied by Preston Hall BMW in March 2003, this is a 2 keeper example; the all-important running in service was carried out at 1,447 miles. The M3 has enjoyed a regular BMW main dealer maintenance schedule, with the last Inspection II service completed in March 2019. The M3 has also benefitted from a Redish Motorsport underside restoration. The M3 is a complete with its original book pack, and MOT history, as well as service documentation.
