Hexagon Classics are delighted to offer what must be one of the finest examples of this iconic 1980’s grand touring coupe. Our car is a low mileage, well-equipped example, presented in an attractive colour combination.
The BMW E24 is the first generation of BMW’s 6 Series grand tourer coupes and was produced from 1976 to 1988. The “Shark Nose” E24 was powered by a range of M30 straight-6 engines.
Front suspension consisted of MacPherson struts and the rear suspension was independent semi-trailing arms. In 1982, the front suspension was upgraded to include twin-pivot lower control arms and the geometry of the rear suspension was revised. The steering used a recirculating ball system with power assistance. In 1983 the automatic transmission was upgraded to a 4-speed ZF 4HP22. The power was 215 hp @ 5200 rpm, torque 310 Nm (229 lb.·ft) @ 3500 rpm and it reached a top speed of 138 mph.
Supplied by Williams BMW Manchester in May 1986, the 635 CSi retains its dealer sticker and factory floor mats, original stereo and handbooks. The original dealer invoice, torch, factory brochure and warranty pack are also with the car. It also has historic MOT’s and servicing invoices to verify the low mileage covered. The correct Michelin TRX tyres are also fitted. Garaged from new, this is a highly original example of this desirable German classic.
